Finding Wisdom Within Grief
(2024 - 2025)

Using fabrics, torn papers, and various printmaking techniques, I created a series of works to process multiple losses I experienced over the past several years: the deaths of important people, the erosion of culture and cultural identity, and the loss of health.

Salvaging materials destined to be discarded — such as brown paper bags — became a soothing act. Transforming them into something meaningful mirrored the way I tried to preserve a sense of meaning while losing what and whom I held dear. The tactile engagement itself became an essential part of healing. I found comfort in the softness of fabrics and in the strength of the threads I stitched into the work. These sensory experiences allowed me to sit with grief in a way that fostered greater presence in my current life.
